Issue Four and the web

Advertise with us. Unfortunately, we mean it.

The fake ads are getting a department. Real advertisers with the right sense of humor may also inquire.

Fake ads are part of the magazine

Issue Four will expand the house-ad department: invented dental sponsors, artisanal surveillance equipment, organization systems for objects that should not require a classification system, and products with the confidence of a luxury brand and the judgment of a gas-station receipt.

Real advertisers may inquire

We would consider real advertising from brands, artists, publishers, events, recovery organizations, harm-reduction programs, odd local businesses, and other people who understand the publication. A paid placement will be labeled. Buying space does not buy editorial approval, a favorable review, access to private customer information, or the right to make unsupported medical or legal claims.

Print placements

Full page, half page, classified, and custom fake-ad-style creative for a future physical issue. Availability begins with Issue Four.

Web placements

Clearly labeled placements on selected article, archive, or store-adjacent pages. No popups, autoplay, or disguised download buttons.

House-built creative

We can write and design an ad in the publication’s voice, subject to approval from both sides and a clear Sponsored or Advertisement label.

What to send

Use the contact page with the subject “Advertising.” Include the organization or project name, destination URL, what you want to promote, print or web preference, timing, available artwork, and a rough budget. Do not send payment details by email.

We decline

  • Drug sales, paraphernalia sales intended for illegal use, or instructions for illegal activity
  • Predatory treatment referral schemes or patient brokering
  • Unsupported health, legal, financial, or recovery claims
  • Weapons, threats, harassment, doxxing, or surveillance aimed at a real person
  • Deceptive downloads, malware, impersonation, counterfeit goods, or scams
  • Creative that makes a real advertisement indistinguishable from editorial content

Advertising inquiries are proposals, not reservations. Placement, price, labeling, creative approval, production deadlines, and refund terms will be agreed in writing before payment.
